Notnecessarily. The next hits of the Assassin's Creed series, Odyssey and Valhalla, went even further in this direction. At the same time, both titles have clearly grown in size -
1stOrigins, then Odyssey. It doesn't really matter, but Odyssey is far more superior tho. If you play Odyssey first, you will pretty much end not playing Origins lol Origins is ok story wise, but combat wise and everything else is so clunky. Plus, at least IMO, is a bit hard to get into.Combatis harder than before, but using your tools and knowing when to escape and re-engage from a different direction makes it feel so rewarding and fun and actually feels like the way an Assassin would operate. I liked Odyssey a lot and the gameplay in Valhalla was fine, but this is the closest they've come to making a game that captures what
Honestly I find them to be the best “side quests” from any assassins creed game or really any open world game. Where In odyssey it was always dialogue, kill target, carry body, dialogue, repeat, Valhalla’s side content actually varies greatly in the simple interactions required of the player keeping them fresh.
Eventuallyrealized it was because Origins needs you to be locked on, but KB+M has a hard time changing targets, which controller doesn't have, since the right stick is much easier to change targets with than a mouse. Once I realized that, I just accepted that Odyssey was the only AC game that worked better with KB+M than gamepad. EDIT:
